I am an educator and researcher in the area of Business ethics – and truly enjoy the opportunity and privilege to regularly discuss with executives the dilemmas that they really face in their daily lives.

I joined ESMT European School of Management and Technology (Berlin/Germany) in September 2005 where I’m currently a lecturer and serve as Head of the Practice Group “Consumer Goods and Retail”.

After my studies of German Literature/Language, Philosophy and Art History at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Germany) and at the Université de Fribourg (Switzerland), I taught at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, at the Uniwersytet Mikolaja Kopernika in Torun (Poland) and at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (U.S.A.).

During and after working on my PhD at the Georg-August-Universität, I worked as management consultant for A.T. Kearney, where I served different international clients.

I direct and teach in various different open enrollment (including ESMT’s flagship program, the “Executive Transition Program (ETP)“) and customized executive education programs for customers such as Axel Springer, British American Tobacco, Coca-Cola, Commerzbank, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Bank, EnBW, Google, Johnson&Johnson, Lufthansa, McDonald’s, and METRO and Symrise. In addition to that I teach in MBA and EMBA programs of ESMT and at the Porto Business School (Portugal).

I am a best-selling and award winning case author and serve as visiting tutor on writing and teaching with case studies for “The Case Centre”.

My work has been featured or quoted in several leading media such as BBC, Financial Times, Times, Deutsche Welle, BILD, Süddeutsche Zeitung or Handelsblatt.

I occasionally blog here, mostly about business ethics or about writing and teaching with case studies.
